My Home Genius (“we,” “us,” or the “app”) helps homeowners document, maintain, and improve their homes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what the app needs to work for you, and we do not sell your personal information.
When you use the app, you may create records about your home: rooms and LiDAR scans, measurements, appliances, maintenance reminders, breaker-panel labels, paint records, and photos you take or upload. If you use the roof or weather features, you may provide your home address. This data is stored on your device, and—if you sign in—synced to our servers so you can keep it across devices and transfer your home records to a new owner.
If you choose to sign in, we use Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us a stable identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email (which may be a private relay address). We use this only to create and secure your account and link it to your home records. We never receive your Apple password.
When you ask the assistant about a photo, or generate a room “makeover,” the relevant image and text are sent to our processing partners (Anthropic’s Claude for the assistant, and Replicate for image generation) to produce a response. Images used for these features may be stored temporarily on our storage provider (Cloudflare) to complete the request. We do not use your photos to train our own models.
Roof measurement, local weather, and hail alerts require your home’s address or approximate location. We send it to mapping and weather providers (Google’s Solar and Geocoding APIs, Apple WeatherKit, and public NOAA storm data) to return results for your property. You can use most of the app without providing an address.
If you request a professional roof inspection, you are asking us to share your contact and property details with a roofing inspection partner so they can reach out to you. We only share this when you take that action.
If you enable reminders or hail alerts, we register a push token with Apple’s notification service so we can deliver those messages. You can turn notifications off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
To operate free-tier limits and keep the service reliable, we record basic usage such as a device identifier and how many assistant questions you’ve used in a period. We do not build advertising profiles, and the app contains no third-party ad tracking.
We rely on trusted providers to run the app, including Vercel and Neon (hosting and database), Cloudflare (image storage), Anthropic and Replicate (AI features), Google and Apple (maps, weather, sign-in, notifications), and public NOAA/Iowa Environmental Mesonet storm data. Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
You can view and delete your home records in the app. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated data, email us at privacy@myhomegenius.app. We will respond within a reasonable time. Deleting the app removes locally stored data from your device.
My Home Genius is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
